Reference: 412 - Authentic Andalucian semi-detached country home near Colmenar
This is a very authentic Andalucian semi-detached country house out in the Montes de Malaga near Colmenar, offering real value for money. Apart from the neighbours' house built next to it, there are two or three other houses in the vicinity, all of which are either being used as weekend homes or have been deserted long ago. The house has a good microclimate at the sunny side of Colmenar, where the temperatures always are a few degrees centrigrade higher than elsewhere.
Outside, built next to the house, is a traditional bread oven, which is still in use. A huge carob tree grows in the garden in front of the house, providing the shade you'll appreciate during the hot summers. There is a large table under the tree, where you can have a barbecue fest with the whole family, or just a lazy Sunday brunch for two. There would be plenty of space to have a swimming pool installed. The views are gorgeous, and include the Sierra de Tejeda, with its snow-covered peak in winter.
Once inside, you'll immediately spot the old beams supporting the ceiling, and the large fireplace. The kitchen is simple but to the purpose, with the cutest little window, looking out to the terrace. There are two bedrooms at the back side of the house, with a shared bathroom that would need doing up a little. There's a habitable loft over the living room and the kitchen, but currently without access.
