Route of Auta-Majiaza (Riogordo)

Distance: 6.5 kilometres
Difficulty: Easy
Transport: On foot/By bike

This route starts in Riogordo, heading north by way of the road to Auta, leading up to the Cortijo de Auta, the Auta farmstead.

From here, you can admire the nearby gorges of Tajo de Gomer and Tajo Doña Ana, as well as the rise of the river Cueva and El Borbollon. You may also find Phoenician tombs, the remains of a Roman villa from the 2nd century BC, and the ruins of an Arab Castle.

Back on the track, now aptly named Carril de Majiaza, you'll arrive at the gorge Majiaza. Descending through it, you will have magnificent views of the valley of the river Cueva, and the village of Riogordo.
