Home sales up 7pc in Q1

A new report from Spain’s Property Registrars suggests that transactions – the lifeblood of the property market – are bottoming out, though it is still too early to declare a recovery under way.

The number of property deeds of sale inscribed in the property registry rose by 7% in Q1 compared to same period last year, according to the latest report from Spain’s College of Property Registrars. This is the first time in several years that annualised sales have risen in a quarter.

Sold - Country house in Colmenar

Ref: 571
Built: 132 m² Bedrooms: 3 Electricity: Yes
Terrace: 40 m² Bathrooms: 3 Water: Yes
Land: 2,000 m² Pool: No Phone: No

This property was actually built specifically to have two rooms to rent out. Each of these bedrooms has a separate entrance and an en-suite bathroom. So this is basically your small scale Bed and Breakfast ready to be started. You'll need a job on the side to earn a reasonable income, of course, but at least these two rooms will provide you with some extra money.

Of course, with a little work, you could turn this villa into a regular three bedroom property. That would leave you with a spacious home surrounded by a large garden, which in fact is a bit larger than the 2,000 square metres officially registered in the title deed.

The villa is situated in a tranquil spot at about 15 minutes' distance from Colmenar. The track to the property is a bit longish and adventurous, but nothing too difficult to handle for any average driver.
