A newly renovated village house with superb views, a large garden where a private swimming pool would definitely be a possibility, and plenty of terraces on different levels. From the terraces you overlook the red-roofed houses of the whitewashed village of Colmenar and beyond, where your views are made up of the sloping country side of the Northwestern Axarquia. Great as a holiday home but also perfect to live in permanently.
The house has quite a few surprising elements and you'll certainly have to walk through it at least twice to get an accurate idea of the actual layout of the property. Only then will you realise that the house is actually bigger than it seems at first sight. See the floorplans: basement, ground floor, and first floor. The house has just been renovated and will require little maintenance for years to come. The renovation has been done with respect for the old charm and conserving the typical Andalucian atmosphere.
The village of Colmenar, also known as the Capital of the Montes de Malaga, is quite a nice village with very welcoming people. You will have to learn some Spanish to get by, but you will be in Spain and enjoy your spanish experience in this enchanting village. This is where you'll find all amenities, such as shops, bars, restaurants, schools, a 24/7 medical centre, public transportation, an internet shop and so on.
From Colmenar, the possibilities for things to do are endless. The city of Malaga with its beautiful historic town centre is only a 25 minutes' drive away, as are the international airport and the Mediterranean beaches or lovely but often overlooked Antequera. Granada or longer drives to Seville, Cordoba or even Portugal are within range.
