This is the heart of the Montes de Málaga
- literally. Antequera is just 16 kilometres from Cortijo
Antonia. The entire Andalucia motorway network links there,
so day excursions to Seville, Ronda, Cordoba and Granada are
all possible and hassle free - motorways in Spain are well
maintained and carry little traffic. More locally there are
the attractions of El Chorro lakes and gorges, the Fuente
de Piedra lake - home to thousands of pink flamingos, The
Roman Spa baths of Carratraca - where you spend a day taking
the waters and indulging in Spa treatments! Malaga - much-maligned
and often overlooked has a delightful "old town"
and should not be missed.
